It’s October and that means a few things – Halloween (one of our favorite holidays!) is almost upon is, fall is in full swing and we’re about to be treated to some fantastic must-watch TV. As the leaves start to turn golden and the air feels a little chill, we look forward to snuggling up at home in front of the big flat screen TV and indulging in the new season’s shows.
Is there anything more blissful than powering up your traditional pop up TV lift cabinet and settling down with a big bucket of popcorn when the nights turn cooler? We thought not! To help you plan your viewing schedule, here are just a few of the great shows returning to our screens over the next few weeks…
Godfather of Harlem
It’s rare that Forest Whitaker makes a bad show so we can’t wait to see him make his debut as gangster Bumpy Johnson in 1960s New York. This Harlem mobster caper is a prequel to the 2007 American Gangster film and with 10 episodes in the first season, this has serious binge watching potential. A few other familiar names star alongside Whitaker, including Giancarlo Esposito, Vincent D’Onofrio and Nigel Thatch.
Modern Love
If you’re looking for some star-studded light viewing this fall, surf to Modern Love on Amazon Prime. The cast is a roll call of Hollywood favorites with appearances by everyone from Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey and Dev Patel to Andy Garcia, Julia Garner and John Slattery. This show is based on the New York Times column of the same name with each episode based on one of the true stories shared weekly.
NCIS
If you’re a fan of this long running crime procedural, you’ll be glued to your seat as the latest season 17 gets underway for not only is Gibbs and the team back… Ziva David has also risen from the dead. Bishop was the first to realize Ziva faked her own death last season and in the first few episodes of season 17, we’ll find out why.
The Morning Show
