Spring is on its way and what better time than the arrival of a new season to update your décor and add in a few new pieces to create a sense of freshness and renewal?

Transitioning to a new season doesn’t mean you need to totally revamp your space – it’s more about adding accents that compliment staples like your sofa, indoor TV lift cabinet, bedside tables and dining room chairs.

Here’s a few of our top tips to make your space on trend without having to splurge on an interior designer or major new pieces of furniture…

Geometrics

Abstract geometric shapes are once again on trend for spring summer 2020 and are very easily incorporated into your home. What’s more, this style is easily adaptable for different rooms within your home – from angular bathroom accessories such as soap dishes and tooth brush holders to cushion covers on the sofa, curtains or wallpaper with geometric prints in the family room to abstract art in your home office.

Nordic minimalism

It seems like the neutral, clean lines of Nordic design are in fashion every year and 2020 is no different. This stripped back style focuses on a neutral color palette such as cream, grey, oatmeal and white and natural materials such as cotton and wood.

For a low cost way to incorporate this look into your home and give your space a refresh, consider painting your walls in one of the Nordic tones – oatmeal is flattering in all spaces – and add texture in the form of cozy woolen throws for the sofa or sheepskin rugs for the floor.

Retro glamour

If you love modern styles but also appreciate classic aesthetics from the past, retro glamour is a bold, stylish and ironically contemporary way to revive your space for spring. Think about introducing deep blues, orange and copper to your interiors and look for chrome, gold and glass side tables or light fixtures. If you want to take it a step further, look for an occasional chair or sofa with interesting details such as scalloped backs or ornate feet.  If you have a wall which lacks interest, make it a focal point by hanging some rich, detailed wallpaper or, set a bar cart against it complete with martini glasses and a cocktail shaker, along with a few bottles of your favorite spirits.
